Amadou BA, current Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning was born 52 years ago in Dakar. Mr. Ba obtained his baccalaureate Technic Option G2 in 1980 and studied economics at the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar where it exits, four years later, with a Master’s degree in Economics, Option: Business Management. At 27, he graduated from the “Ecole Nationale d'Administration et de Magistrature (ENAM)” (ENAM).

Amadou BA also holds a Higher Diploma in Accounting and had tought this field to several cohorts of inspector students in "Taxation and Domains" of the “Ecole Nationale d'Administration” since 1992. Between 1995-2000, he was in charge of teaching in the West African Training Center for Banking Studies and (COFEB) of the Central Bank of the States of West Africa (BCEAO).

On a professional level, the current Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning began his career in Diourbel before being transferred to the Centre for Tax Services (CSF) in Dakar Plateau. From 1992 to 1994 he held the position of Commissioner Controller of Insurance at the Department of Insurance before returning to the Directorate General of Taxation and Domains as Inspector-Auditor at the Department of Audits and Surveys until 2002.

From 2002 on, Mr. Amadou BA will lead successively Center for Large Businesses and the Department of Taxation before he is promoted as Director General of Taxation and Domains in November 2006, a position he held until Monday, September 2, 2013, date of his appointment as Minister of Economy and Finance of Senegal. In July 06, 2014, Mr. Amadou BA was reappointed in the new government as Minister of the Economy, Finance and Planning.
