New representation in Senegal: the African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund (FAGACE) is moving closer to its targets for more focused support.
On the sidelines of the 16th Ordinary Session of the Board of Governors, the African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund (FAGACE) inaugurated its Regional Representation for West Africa (RRAO) on Thursday, 19 February 2026, in Dakar, in the presence of Governors, Directors, the Managing Director and institutional partners.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr Hervé NDOBA, Minister of Finance and Budget of the Central African Republic and Chairman of the FAGACE Board of Governors, alongside Mr Cheikh DIBA, Minister of Finance and Budget and FAGACE Governor for Senegal.
In his speech, Mr NDOBA highlighted the strategic importance of this establishment, while praising the remarkable performance of the institution, which to date has mobilised more than $4.9 billion (3 trillion CFA francs) in guarantees, catalysing more than $11.5 billion (7 trillion CFA francs) in investments.
Mr Cheikh DIBA emphasised the decisive nature of these performances, which illustrate the Fund's maturity as a structuring lever for regional private sector financing. He invited partners to support this initiative in order to enable FAGACE to fully play its catalytic role.
Following the inauguration, the 16th ordinary session of the Board of Governors was held. On this occasion, the Minister of Finance and Budget, Mr Cheikh DIBA, reaffirmed Senegal's commitment to fully support the reforms undertaken by FAGACE to finance the development of African economies.
